We’re Here to Help
With small class sizes and student to teacher ratios that average 12:1, Aurum Prep provides a high quality, personalized, college preparatory education for 6th – 8th graders at our public charter school.
In addition to in-class support from a dedicated teaching staff, each student at Aurum Prep has a faculty advisor they meet with daily at the beginning and end of the day in advisory groups of 15 peers. Students stay with the same advisor for all 3 years of their middle school experience at Aurum. Close, trusting relationships develop between the students and their advisor who acts as a mentor and champion. Advisors keep an eye on grades and behavior and help students develop strategies and set goals for maximum achievement that may include extra help and 1:1 support.
We’re Here After School, Too
Our doors do not close at the end of the academic day. Teachers offer tutorials Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday afternoons from 3:30pm – 4:30pm. It’s during this 1:1 time that students get extra help with assignments. Because school-to-home communications and a partnership with parents are important, advisors inform families through ParentSquare when after-school tutorials are recommended or required.
Aurum Prep also partners with Envisioneers, a free enrichment program that meets on our campus Monday through Friday from 3:30pm to 6:00pm. Envisioneers help students realize what future possibilities are available while fostering and cultivating academic and social emotional skills through project-based learning. In addition to the after-school program, Envisioneers are on campus during the school day, too, offering extra support to students. It’s easy to participate in the program, just ask us for an application.
